Sporadic Ramblings

December 6, 2006

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But from where I'm standing it just looks like copyright infringement.

I recently found one of my projects not only in wide publication without credit as per my clear instructions, but it seems that someone else saw fit to claim sole credit for its creation. That's the part I find insulting, not that someone would take and print my file, but that they would then claim full credit for its creation for themselves. Time will tell where things go from here.

In other, happier news, I have a new camera enroute to tackle some of the bigger projects I've been looking towards of late. Along a similar line I found this article tonight on the state of glamour & fashion photography that may interest some. Check it out at http://www.glamour1.com/forums/main-community-forum/30506-my-glamour-manifesto.html

Until next time...

So after four months of silence you would think I would have something to say by now, and indeed I do, but I shan't. Instead I'm just going to post a quick note about the new hockey pics and continue on my merry way until another time. Ah, time, that mysterious thing that we can't be rid of and yet never have enough to go around.

The end is near.

Why do I say that? Some crazy bastards from the north country actually saw fit to hand me a diploma. That can only mean bad times are ahead.

But in other news, I've been able to squeeze in a surprising amount of shooting lately despite the hectic schedule I've been dealing with. You'll find some new photos in the fashion and nature sections if you're so inclined. Other than that, things have been utter chaos at work, so if you've tried to contact me lately with no success - that's why. I have a couple of big projects on the horizon and I'll share when completed, but for now, I return to my cave.

Sporadic Ramblings. Very sporadic it seems. Two and a half months since the last time I had something to say - or at least the time to say it anyways.

Far too much on the go these days. It's just the adjusting to the real world that's taking up more time than expected, now that I've graduated. Alert the media - I've been edumacated. But really takes up my time is the bright and shiny weather we've had of late. I spent most of this past weekend on two wheels and tonight officially kicked of the summer. For me at least, and I'm sure many other bike junkies in the north, the summer has officially kicked off when you crack the bike out for the first time one evening to go some rediculous distance for a party or drink with a friend. That night was tonight. But I've come to the conclussion, the little BLT light I use for bumming around town in the evening leaves something to be desired when cruising through a pitch black night along side a highway. I had a two foot round spot about five feet in front of my wheel where I could see, everything else was black with a very faint white line painted along side the road. Fun times.

While I'm glad I did it in a weird way that perhaps only hardcore bike junkies will understand, I'll be throwing my big light's battery on charge tonight - just in case.

Wow - this site seems to have taken forever to put together. I'm finally launching it today, but I think I started in October in fits and spurts. Of course it's not quite done. In the end I plan to have user selectable style sheets added so that the page will change it appearance as your and my fancies change. But for now - it's up. Take a look around and let me know what you think and let me know if you find any bugs so I can get them corrected.

In other news - the show is quickly approaching. The Graphics Walk of Fame is an annual production put on by the graduating class of the graphic design department at Canadore College, and this time around that's me. Check out the full details in the IMG forums at www.imgmagazine.net/phpBB//viewtopic.php?t=16. And if you haven't taken a look at IMG Magazine yet - then get over there.
